STARBASE 118 OPS — Ops crew successfully rescue entire crew and passengers on the USS Belladonna, apprehend Terra Prime suspects, and enjoy well-deserved shore leave.
Ops crew successfully navigated a complicated and dangerous mission aboard the USS Belladonna when Terra Prime infiltrated the crew and attached a tricobalt bomb to the ship’s warp core.
“Though they are not physically the biggest, Terra Prime, philosophically, is the biggest threat to the ideals of the Federation.” Lt. Sherlock stated, “They previously succeeded in their attempts to terrorize others, but not this time. I think I can safely say that we were resolved to send a message to them: they will fail.”
Sources say one Terra Prime member was killed when another, a former Starfleet Officer who had infiltrated the organisation, revealed herself to protect a civilian who had been taken hostage.
“Even upon retirement, a Starfleet Officer doesn’t just stop standing for the Federation’s ideals.” Lt. Meryel Harris commented after being treated for severe injuries sustained during the altercation. “Protecting innocents was always my goal.”
A second Terra Prime member also defected and assisted in helping save the ship.
After returning to OPs, the crew enjoyed shore leave and engaged in personal pursuits. Rumours abound of a blossoming romance between LtCmdr. Shar’wyn Foster and relative newcomer, Ens. Egil Renot.
“It’s a bit early to say that, isn’t it?” Ens. Renot commented when asked about his involvement with Foster. “I mean he is really cute. I just hope he feels the same way. That was out loud, wasn’t it?”
Love seems to be in the air as other sources indicate that Lt. Trovek Arys is currently negotiating a marriage contract with Dalin Lukin Zorkal, Cardassian Ambassador aboard the station. Zorkal’s representatives have not responded to any inquiries.
While shore leave remained uneventful for the most part, a visiting ship, the USS Glenn, which acts as a diplomatic envoy during negotiations, was called into action when pirates attacked a nearby vessel. Officers onboard the ship, including LtCmdr. Diata, Lt. Catherine Vargas, and Lt. Sherlock, immediately volunteered to assist. Springing into action, the vessel successfully ran off an Orion interceptor and rescued the crew just before the ship exploded due to the damage sustained. Sources say the Glenn returned to Ops, and the injured crew were treated, though one strangely shared the name with another Starfleet Officer. More on the situation as it develops.
