New and veteran crew blend seamlessly during extended shore leave at Starbase 118 Ops

STARBASE 118 OPS — The adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same” rings true as old and new crew members of Ops bond.

Upon its return from the diplomatic mission to Sannin VII, the USS Narendra brought a mix of new and returning crew members to Starbase 118. This influx of personnel, ranging from newly graduated ensigns to officers rejoining from leaves of absence, has been particularly notable in the dynamic environment of Starbase 118 Ops.

Among the arrivals were the newly transferred First Officer, LtCmdr Gogigobo Fairhug, and the well-regarded Chief Engineer, LtCmdr Rustyy Hael. Counselor Lt JG Karen Stendhal also returned, finding themselves once again in familiar territory. The crew quickly reacquainted themselves with the station, revisiting old spots and catching up.

Commodore Sal Taybrim aptly summed up the situation: “Not much has changed… and yet everything has changed.”

The arrival of several ensigns fresh from the Academy has sparked a noticeable increase in station activities, reminiscent of the playful “Ensign’s Bingo.” A notable incident involved Ensigns Corey Wethern and Ksivi-Sava on the Starbase’s outer hull. Rumors suggested they were playing zero-G bowling, though both insisted they were merely completing EVA training hours.

When asked about unusual sensor readings that seemed to indicate a game in progress, Ensign Korras, a Klingon Ops officer, dismissed them as a sensor glitch, humorously questioning the suggestion of any other interpretation.

As shore leave concludes, it’s evident that the recent personnel changes have only strengthened the camaraderie and spirit among the crew of Starbase 118 Ops, maintaining the station’s dynamic and cohesive atmosphere.
