BADLANDS – During a routine journey back to the Sol system, the crew of the USS Artemis-A (NCC-81287) detected unusual sensor readings in The Badlands.
Further investigation revealed these signals were coming from a dormant Borg cube. Before the crew could report their findings to Starfleet HQ, an explosion disabled their long-range communications array.
Unable to contact Starfleet, Captain Addison MacKenzie led a team to investigate the seemingly derelict cube, while First Officer Lieutenant Commander Talos Dakora remained on the Artemis to identify the saboteurs among the crew.
On the Borg vessel, MacKenzie’s team—consisting of LtCmdr. Salkath, LtJG. Savel, Gila Sadar, Lt. Jovenan, and Ens. Quentin Beck—discovered that the cube was drawing an astronomical amount of power from within.
Meanwhile, aboard the Artemis, Dakora and the remaining Senior Staff worked to investigate the sabotage and repair the damage. A second explosion further damaged their sensors, partially blinding the ship. Security footage suggested the presence of Changeling infiltrators.
MacKenzie’s team on the Borg cube identified the source of the power draw as an unprecedented transwarp transporter system. Borg drones attacked them, but received unexpected reinforcements from personnel of Amity Outpost. These personnel had followed Changeling saboteurs through a Borg transwarp device in their quadrant. Together, the combined teams fought through the drones, attempting to contact the Artemis as the sounds of space battle resonated through the cube.
Aboard the Artemis, Dakora, Lt. Vitor Silveira, and LtJG. T’Ama worked to fend off the Borg assault and recover the trapped team. Meanwhile, the rest of the crew dealt with the Changeling threat below decks.
The crew of the USS Artemis-A faced a dual crisis, battling both Borg drones and Changeling infiltrators. They are working to recover their team and restore order aboard their ship, facing significant challenges on both fronts.
