INDRE III — The Cardassian Union has reported on a recent incident in the occupied colony of Witherington in which a fault in the tube tunnel relay system caused a collision between two trains. The tragedy caused significant damage to the surrounding region as well as the colony.
Cardassian patrols arrived immediately and coordinated a clearing operation in the area. Despite the difficult conditions produced by the torrential rain, our personnel battled tirelessly to restore order and secure the inhabitants’ protection.
“Tohsti, a colonist, reported feeling shaken by the recent incident in Witherington involving a malfunction in the subway system. While we recognise that accidents can be distressing, we want to reassure the people of the colony that our personnel responded quickly to the event to protect their safety and security,” said Gul Korat, who is overseeing the Cardassian forces in the region.
“We would like to remind all citizens of our occupied territories that the Cardassian Union is dedicated to preserving regional order and stability. All residents are encouraged to report any suspicious behaviour or concerns to the appropriate authorities,” added Gul Korat.
While there were reports of surrounding buildings falling as a result of the disaster, these structures had been abandoned and presented no threat to the people of the colony.
Despite rumours of recent explosions near the Council Building in the Maingard District, our personnel stay cautious in Witherington. The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation, but our forces are prepared to respond to any threat to the safety and security of the colony.
The Cardassian Union is aware of the recent disappearance of Groove, Captain of the Fourcade, but feels it is an internal affair among the local resistance. We urge all parties concerned to seek a peaceful settlement to any problems and to respect the Cardassian Union’s authority in the region.
The Cardassian Union will continue to monitor the situation in Witherington and seek to safeguard the safety and security of all individuals who live on our occupied planets.
