FallFest, a yearly online simming get together, is this Saturday

FallFest – an online simming convention with live simming, panels/discussions on simming, and trivia – is happening this coming Sunday, starting at 9am Eastern.

Our community has hosted FallFest twice in the past 10 years, but this year we’re supporting another group (The New Universes Project) as they run the event alongside Ongoing Worlds.

Join us this Saturday for the FallFest chat

It’s fall, and once again Ongoing Worlds is gathering online simming communities for FallFest, which we hosted last year. This is an interactive online convention that you can attend from the comfort of your own home!

This bustling chat based convention will take the place of our regularly scheduled fleet wide chat in November.

FallFest will be held on Saturday, November 12. The opening ceremony starts at 7:30am Pacific / 10:30am Eastern / 3:30pm London / 2:30am Sydney (AUS). The festivities will last until 6pm Pacific / 9pm Eastern / 2am London / 1pm on Nov. 13 Sydney (AUS), but you can come-and-go as you please for the sessions you want to join.

This year FallFest is being hosted by Obsidian Fleet, and will feature workshops, discussions, a live RPG chat and a trivia contest. Our community will be hosting three sessions in chat room 2: “Writing Romances” led by Fleet Captain Renos; “Standing the Test of Time: led by Admiral Toni Turner and Fleet Captain Renos; and “Adding Humor to Games” run by Captain Sal Taybrim. These sessions start at 9am Pacific / 12pm New York / 5pm London / 4:30am Sydney (AUS).

You can check out the full schedule here: FallFest 2016. The FallFest website will also have a chat link updated as we get closer to the convention date!

We would love to see strong community participation, so mark your calendars and get ready to have a whole lot of fun!

Mark your calendar: FallFest happening this November

Every year, the simming community comes together for events that help people learn more about simming and share experiences across organizations. One of those events is FallFest, a one-day online convention held annual in IRC chatrooms. This year is the sixth annual FallFest.

The event will be held on November 12, 2016 starting at 2:30pm UK / 10:30am Eastern / 7:30am Pacific. See your timezone here: http://bit.ly/2e6rqSW

You can find a preliminary schedule on the Obsidian Fleet website, found here: http://www.obsidianfleet.net/fallfest. We’ll send out more information about sessions that UFOP: StarBase 118 Star Trek PBEM RPG will be hosting as we get closer to the event.

FallFest Badge Awarded

FallFest 2015 a great success!

This year marked the fifth annual ‘OngoingWorlds Fall Festival‘, known casually as ‘FallFest‘. It is an event that brings together the entire simming community to discuss various aspects of role playing, play trivia games and role play together. We put on the longest running FallFest in the event’s history and packed the schedule full of lots of exciting events and our dedicated radio DJs kept everyone entertained with music and updates from the chat rooms throughout.

We had a huge turnout with over 50 people attending the event! I’ve had emails from several people thanking us for what we put on and telling me how much they enjoyed themselves! Everyone in the wider simming community knows that we know how to put on an outstanding party and I know they’ll be talking about this event in years to come. This is what Charles Star had to say:

The entire team from host club UFOP: StarBase 118 put on another world-class show, just as they did two years ago at FallFest III.  I’d like to personally thank everyone who took some part in making it all happen:  those who hosted events, those who promoted & advertised, those who played a technical role whether it was graphic design or setting up chatrooms, and those who simply invited a friend to join in on the fun.  Thank you all! – Charles Star, in his OngoingWorlds article “The Ongoing Worlds Community Honor now has two more Laureates

Without the help and support of everyone who put themselves forward – be it providing graphics, helping with research or publicity tasks, hosting a chat session or being  radio DJ we simply wouldn’t have pulled it off. We’re really lucky and proud to have such an outstanding support team. To everyone who helped out and everyone who turned up to support us: Thank you so much!

FallFest Helper Badge presented to a great team!

It is my great pleasure to present the FallFest Helper badge to the many people who supported us in organising and running a highly successful FallFest.
