UNIMATRIX SEVENTEEN — After barely escaping from Unimatrix Zero in a Borg infested changed timeline, the crew of the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) ventured into the past in the hope of stopping whatever changes Commodore Johnson will do.
In our last news report, we mentioned how the different Gorkon teams returned one by one from their adventures on Unitmatrix Seventeen. The most special task, however, was for the team of Lieutenant Doz Finch who had to steal a half finished Borg Sphere which held a time travelling device.
From jumping into voids, seeing Borg drones battling with holograms and capturing a bunch of Borg drones in the transporter memory buffer, Doz’ team succeeded and escaped from Unimatrix Seventeen with the Borg on their tail. With all teams back safe on the Gorkon, it took some ingenuity to lure away the Borg from their meeting point with the stolen Borg sphere.
“I don’t know how the Command Staff did it, but with the time travelling device we returned into the past, a few days before the Battle of Wolf 359 will happen,” at word is our resident journalist Will Weg. “Here I am, finally able to report to the FNS, but I’m not allowed to contact them in 2367 because we could contaminate the timeline.”
Several teams have dispersed into different locations, all to stop Commodore Johnson from destroying the Borg cube that is en route to Wolf 359.
On New Cyndriel, led by Finch, some people joined the colourful Festival of Yelvala in order to track down Keibren Denshar, Johnson’s accomplice, who had travelled with the Commodore into the past.
The team of Vice Admiral Quinn Reynolds arrived at the weapons platform so that they can destroy the destructive device before the Borg reaches said platform.
Lieutenant Commander Tahna Meru and her group have encountered an Andorian freighter that is on the Borg’s route but not a single report from the future makes a note of the ship so it is now the team’s task to lure that vessel into another direction.
On some unnamed planet, Lieutenant Commander Samira Neathler and her team started their search for Johnson himself, as they want to know what his motives were for the actions he has done.
“It’s weird, isn’t it? We have to make sure one of the biggest disasters in Starfleet happens in order to save the whole Quadrant, and so we can return to our families and friends. This is Will Weg reporting for the FNS. Either someone in the future will read this one day, or I’ll have to start a reading club with the Borg if we fail.”e Admiral’s stare? Imagine that coming from the Borg Queen, I’d morph into a drone instantly.”
