Disturbing reports from Unimatrix Seventeen seep in as teams return to the Gorkon

UNIMATRIX SEVENTEEN — Still trying to return to their own timeline, several crewmembers from the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) risked their lives by visiting the Borg-infested Unimatrix Seventeen.

One team had retrieved a Borg drone that was missing its cybernetics but instead of them being removed surgically, it seemed more the work of a butcher, which raised the question of what was really happening on Unimatrix Seventeen. Was someone out there harvesting cybernetics for their own use or was something else going on?

With the risk of dropping into the unknown, the team from Lieutenant Commander Tahna Meru traversed a room with floating platforms, and found their way out of a circular room with no apparent exits. After asking for an extra pair of hands under the form of Ensign Kestra Nin, the group faced a couple of Borg drones after which they ventured into the heart of the Unimatrix’ labyrinth to reach the data node that held the information they desperately needed. Thanks to the ingenious idea of luring some nanoprobes into a tricorder, the team finally managed to steal the data from the Borg. After the heist and with the image of this timeline’s Borg Queen edged on their retinas, the foursome sought out medical help on the Gorkon.

The team led by Lieutenant Vylaa zh’Tisav faced and fought several drones, including a new type of drone that had discovered the means of flight. Though with joint force and ingenuity, and with the help of Ensign Russell Standish and Lieutenant JG Taelon and his trusty sidekick Aria, the foursome had done some serious damage to Unimatrix Seventeen in order to lure the drones away from some key locations.

So far we have little news from the team under the command of Lieutenant Doz Finch, who’s dangerous task was to steal a Borg sphere.

Using more subtle means, Vice Admiral Quinn Reynolds’ team had laid out some puzzles and tricks to slow down a possible pursuit by the Borg. After discovering signs that some of these drones were visiting Unimatrix Zero, the foursome tried to call in the help from those drones who sought their freedom in an alternate world. It was Reynolds herself who risked everything and her own Deltan mind to contact one of those drones. After breaking the connection, Reynolds had some rather devastating news: The Borg Queen was none other than this timeline version of Quinn Reynolds.

“You mean there’s two of them? Our Admiral and a Borg version? A Borg Queen even? No wonder the Borg have conquered all of this quadrant,” Ensign Will Weg, our resident journalist on board the Gorkon was happy to talk with us. “Were you ever on the receiving end of the Admiral’s stare? Imagine that coming from the Borg Queen, I’d morph into a drone instantly.”
