DREVER IV – Shoreleave is in full swing for the Starfleet Crew.
With shore leave in full swing, the crew of the USS Constitution-B (NCC 9012-B) is enjoying a time of relaxation. The colonists of Drever IV welcomed the Starfleet personnel back, and many of the crew are enjoying the beautiful planet.
To the joy of all those who attended, the ten-year-old N’Veri, an inhabitant of Paoike Colony, had a successful naming ceremony. This is a tradition in which a Kameryan child at age ten chooses their own forever-name. Until then the name they are called by is merely a designation based on where they are from. Some may choose to keep this designation as their name, others choose something else. Either decision is a big step in the life of a Kameryan, acknowledging that their life is full of their own choices, that nobody else can make for them. It marks their independence. Locals, family, and friends from among the Constitution’s crew attended Paoike Colony village center, where the youngster announced their new name: Nny’eke’a-Rin. They chose the name in honor of the colony in which they were raised, the Constitution, who helped save the planet from disease earlier that year, and themselves.
“It was very fascinating,” Lt. Sin Suvan said when asked at the end of the ceremony. “I was impressed with the amount of culture and thoughtfulness put into the choice.”
Another excitement that the crew was able to experience was the long-overdue awards and promotion ceremonies that were postponed due to the emergency at Hermes Outpost. Many ribbons were given out thanks to the heroic actions both in the Paoike Colony and in the Hermes Outpost. Two crew members were also promoted, with Ens. Ba’el receiving their black pip to Lieutenant JG and Lt. JG Ellie Park receiving her gold pip to full Lieutenant.
With all this going on, not everything was peaceful. While conducting an interview with the captured changeling known as Que, Cmdr. Nugra discovered that their Chief Science Officer, LtCmdr. Azura Ada, was being targeted. The prisoner had informed the Gorn intelligence officer that Sicarius, an organization once thought broken up years ago, was after something, though the changeling would not say what.
Further, the Constitution’s exchange officer, Lt. JG Imas Heeka, had been suddenly recalled to Cardassia, which the woman did not want to do. Working with LtCmdr. T’Seva, the two have been attempting to find out what was going on and if there was any way to stop the transfer.
Though the crew of the ship does not know what the future holds, they will be rested up to take on whatever mission Starfleet Command assigns next.
