BETA-15187 DUST CLOUD — The USS Gorkon battles a Borg cube in a drastically altered timeline where Starfleet no longer exists, while its crew struggles to survive and adapt to the new threat posed by the enigmatic “Omega Borg.”
The USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) found itself ensnared in a dire situation after investigating the theft of a chrono-deflector linked to Starfleet Commodore Daffyd Johnson. When Johnson activated the device, the timeline was drastically altered, seemingly erasing Starfleet from existence and leaving the Gorkon alone in a galaxy dominated by the Borg.
Now locked in a life-or-death battle with a Borg cube, Vice Admiral Quinn Reynolds, alongside Commander Jo Marshall, Lt Commander Ayiana Sevo, and Lieutenant Stoyer, have been relentlessly evading Borg attacks and testing new battle strategies. Their efforts have so far kept the cube at bay, even managing to escape the clutches of a tractor beam. However, these Borg—referred to as the “Omega Borg”—bear little resemblance to the Borg from the prime timeline and are proving to be an even more formidable foe.
Meanwhile, Lt Commander Samira Neathler’s team, including Lieutenant JG Taelon and Ensigns Linna Farvor and Melik Finley, braced for a potential boarding action. Yet, when nanoprobes were detected onboard, they discovered not Borg drones but a Borg node embedded in the ship. The team successfully disabled and removed the probe and plans to study it further to learn more about the enigmatic “Omega Borg.”
Elsewhere on the ship, Lt Commander Tahna Meru led a group consisting of Ensigns Nera Ay, Vesela Pace, and Solkon in rescuing civilian scientists and crew family members from labs on the lower decks, relocating them to safety. Unfortunately, four civilian casualties have been reported, with three others transported to sickbay for treatment.
Amidst the chaos, the Gorkon’s warp core was knocked offline early in the conflict. Lieutenant Vylaa zh’Tisav’s engineering team, including Lieutenants Doz Finch and Gnaxac, faced overwhelming challenges in repairing it. Remarkably, they executed a hard restart of the warp core during combat within mere minutes—an extraordinary engineering achievement. They have also prepared a fake warp core breach as a contingency plan.
When asked for a quote, Ensign Will Weg, one of the last officers to join the Gorkon before the timeline shifted, quipped, “A quote for who? We don’t even know if Starfleet still exists or the FNS. Who’ll even read this? Have you ever seen a Borg drone read a newspaper while having breakfast?”
