Cooperation between Nassau News and Federation News Service in the making

NASSAU — After narrowly surviving their first Borg encounter, the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) sought temporary refuge within the depths of the Nassau asteroid.

While the Gorkon’s command staff engaged in discussions with the leader of the armada that assisted them in fending off a second Borg cube, the rest of the crew used the downtime to explore Nassau’s peculiarities in this altered timeline.

Some officers took the opportunity to sample the asteroid’s culinary offerings, though rumors circulated about the dubious origins of certain dishes. Others spent the respite forging connections with fellow crewmembers, both on the ship and among Nassau’s residents. For those with a taste for adventure, the ship’s holodeck provided an outlet, hosting a new horror program that drew thrill-seekers despite the already harrowing experiences of recent days.

Positive talks between Gorkon leadership and Nassau’s governing figures were tempered by tension after a group of Gorkon officers accessed salvaged debris from one of the asteroid’s major shipyards. The materials, beamed aboard the Sovereign-class vessel for further examination, raised concerns among Nassau’s leaders about the crew’s intentions.

In an unexpected development, Nassau News reached out to readers of the Federation News Service, seeking to establish a collaborative relationship between the two news organizations.

“Me, a Nassau reporter? That would give everyone on the ship a positive vibe, you know,” remarked Ensign Will Weg, an avid FNS reader. “If we remain stuck here forever, at least we’ll be able to read the latest gossip—not just about Nassau but also about the ship itself.”

Leaning in conspiratorially, Weg added, “I heard some delightful news from one of our transporter chiefs. A certain male Bajoran ran away from the decontamination crew. I would have loved to see the Admiral’s face when she saw him running around the corridors naked.”

The Federation News Service is seeking confirmation of this colorful anecdote from Gorkon crew members.
