Ops crew recovers during shore leave as Terra Prime takes action

STARBASE 118 OPS — Tensions run high as the crew finds their shore leave abruptly cut short due to the resurgence of Terra Prime, a xenophobic group with a history of deadly attacks. This escalation comes in the wake of a recent assassination attempt on Praetor Taron and the consequential bombing of the Romulan embassy, events that have shaken the community to its core.

Immediately after the attack, the crew of Starbase 118 Ops devoted their shore leave to focusing on the recovery efforts. The attack, which also resulted in the bombing of the Romulan embassy, triggered the immediate dispatch of cleanup crews to the scene. Plans for rebuilding the embassy have already been set in motion.

Ens. Sill-con, who has diligently overseen the cleanup and restoration of the former embassy grounds, stressed the importance of meticulous oversight during this time of healing. “To call it dedication is to imply that it was a choice to reach excellence,” he explained. “No, it is an obligation. Tragedy is like a wound; if left alone without properly attending to it it will inevitably become infected. It is my obligation to watch as to make sure no ‘infections’ occur during this time of healing.”

Yet amidst the recovery, the crew of Starbase 118 Ops faces a new threat. Terra Prime, notorious for their release of a compound that killed thousands on Utopia Colony, has become active once more. This recent escalation of Terra Prime’s activities prompted an immediate response from the Ops crew.

Despite Cmdre. Sal Taybrim’s weakened state after a life-threatening surgery, his resolve remains intact. He mobilized the officers for action, underlining the severity of the situation. “Terra Prime is a priority concern because of the threat to innocent colonists on all sides of the trinity sector,” Taybrim explained. “We are committed to the protection of innocent citizens both in the Federation and in allied territories. Terra Prime will be stopped.”

While information remains scarce, anonymous sources suggest that Lt. Nestira Aristren recently returned from a covert mission at Miranda VII, purportedly the current headquarters of Terra Prime. On commenting about her involvement, Lt. Aristren remained cryptic but assured the public of Starfleet’s commitment to their safety. “I can assure you that Starfleet will do whatever is necessary to safeguard the sector’s inhabitants, and bring an end to Terra Prime’s false doctrine,” she stated.

Starbase 118 Ops has long braced itself for a confrontation with Terra Prime. Their intelligence officers have maintained close surveillance of this cult-like organization, with recent spikes in activity serving as no surprise.

Lt. Vitor Tito, while refraining from commenting on the specifics of their upcoming mission, reiterated Starfleet’s mandate in these challenging times. “This crew will defend and upkeep the mandate of Starfleet to serve and protect peace,” he declared.

As the crew braces for the looming conflict, the outcome remains uncertain, yet all are determined to emerge victorious. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
