Awards Ceremony 2023 – Duty Post Awards

Awards Ceremony 2023 – Duty Post Awards

Welcome to the last day of the awards presentation, Day Four!

This week, we have announced the recipients of the General, Length of Service, Special, and Staff Awards. Today, we will be presenting the Duty Post awards!

Each award highlights a specific department, ranging from the essential ones like medical, operations, and engineering to the more unique roles such as diplomacy, intel, and marines. We also want to acknowledge that even civilians have an opportunity to be recognized for their valuable contributions. Their unconventional paths bring fresh perspectives to our stories and enrich our community.

Every award presented here acknowledges a player’s exceptional performance in embodying their duty post. Given that only one award is given per duty post each year, these accolades hold significant value and are highly sought after. Our diverse array of winners, spanning from Ensign to Admiral, demonstrates that every player has an opportunity to be recognized. By consistently simming to the best of their ability and continuously striving to enhance their skills, every player has a chance to be considered for one of these prestigious awards.

In closing this year’s awards ceremony, we’d like to thank the people who made this possible and make one final, special presentation. Our thanks and appreciation goes out to:

  • Every year, our incredible members submit fantastic, emotional nominations! It’s a joy to read them all and know how much love there is for absolutely everyone here. You’re the real MVPs.
  • The Awards Committee — composed of Admiral Quinn Reynolds, Commodore Kali Nicholotti, Commander Etan Iljor, Commander Serala, Commander Wil Ukinix, and Lt. Commander Alora DeVeau — who voted on the Duty Post and Special Awards. This intricate process involves carefully evaluating all award nominations, along with their accompanying references, and ultimately choosing the candidate who exemplifies the desired attributes sought by the award.
  • The Deputy Award Facilitators — Lt. Commander Tomas Falt and Lt. Commander Alora DeVeau — the dynamic duo has tackled their tasks with a dash of panache, diligently prepping the awards nominations, assembling materials for the ceremonies, and gracefully handling every other task I threw their way. Their tireless efforts have ensured that everything is shipshape, ready to sail smoothly on awards day. I am deeply grateful for their time, dedication, and assistance in making our awards ceremonies a resounding success. Thank you both for being the wind beneath our wings!
  • The commanding officers of the fleet, who invest an incredible amount of time and effort in meticulously reviewing nominations for their respective ships, ensuring that deserving individuals are selected for awards. Year after year, these commanding officers consistently give their absolute best, tirelessly dedicating themselves to every single player. Their commitment to recognizing and celebrating excellence within our community is truly awe-inspiring!
  • All the first officers of our fleet, who diligently cast their votes, offering valuable recommendations to the Executive Council for determining recipients of general awards when their commanding officer was nominated. Their contributions and support are deeply appreciated. Thank you, first officers, for your dedication and assistance!
  • Fleet Admiral Tristan Wolf for founding this community 29 years ago and encouraging us to thrive in it, grow our own way, and all started when he was barely on the edge of seventeen. With immense admiration and gratitude, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Wolf for his enduring love and presence. Big love, Chief!

Finally, here’s to an awesome 29th year within our wonderful ‘Fleet! Raise your mugs, get that toast going, and celebrate a fantastic future on the horizon!
