Crew of the USS ‘Oumuamua enjoy a break in the Gamma Quadrant

GAMMA QUADRANT — Following intense peace talks with the United Dominion of Planets and two simultaneous first contacts, the crew of the USS ‘Oumuamua have been given a brief respite while en route to their next assignment

Continuing their mission of exploration, the leaders of the USS ‘Oumuamua have provided downtime for their crew during a repositioning movement. Limited to the ship itself or nearby stations along their planned route, the crew has taken to the break with a keen sense of exploration.

Most of the staff has spent fewer than three months aboard the ship and the break has provided a period to settle into the ship as their new home, free from the arduous tasks of daily duties.

Holosuites have been in high demand during the leave period, with several crew members taking advantage of the robust simulation capabilities. However, the increased use of the suites has had some troubling downsides. So far, one occasion is known where a holosuite malfunctioned, causing at least one injury on the ‘Oumuamua’s senior staff. Lt. JG Jack Kessler, the ‘Oumuamua’s Tactical Officer, had commented on the experience. “There’s nothing like taking a photonic holographic shot to the arm to remind us of the importance of holodeck safeties.”

Despite the restrictive liberty period, not all excursions were limited to the ship itself. Several crewmembers could visit a recreational station along their route for a brief time. Partaking in the many attractions of the station including a bout of Tsunkatse. The Starfleet contender was said to have won under questionable circumstances, however, a communications blackout prevented further details from emerging.

The ‘Oumuamua is scheduled to continue her enduring mission of exploration throughout the quadrant for the foreseeable future.
