AAVARO WILDS — During a stake-out mission to capture pirates, the USS Juneau (NX-99801) took cover in the Dirty Elbow nebula, where mind-altering subspace micro-distortions ripped through the ship.
Following a difficult mission in the Aavaro Wilds, the Juneau returned to Federation space for rest and resupply. Many of the crew members were relieved to see Deep Space 9 after spending nearly a year beyond the Federation frontier.
Captain Oddas and the newly appointed Executive Officer, LtCmdr. Kalia Qinn, prepared an awards ceremony to honour their personnel. Both Ens. Falt and Trovek were promoted to Lt. JG, and the captain selected Lt. Kendrick as Acting Chief of Security and Tactical.
Many of the Bajorans among the crew took advantage of the chance to visit relatives and friends on Bajor. Oddas herself spent much of her shore vacation catching up with friends she hadn’t seen in a long time. Though it was a little lengthier voyage for the ship’s Chief Medical Officer, LtCmdr. Karise Indobri, who travelled to Rodul to spend time with friends and family.
Others on the crew took use of the luxuries aboard Deep Space 9 and Bajor to enjoy their time away from the ship and her tasks. Cmdr. Alexander Williams, LtCmdr. T’Lea, Kendrick, and Falt prepared for a long expedition into Bajor’s wilderness.
“It’s fantastic to come home,” remarked Juneau engineer Lt. JG Korran Yuran. “I haven’t had the opportunity to return to Bajor in over two years. The Juneau is doing great work in the Aavaro Wilds, but it’s also nice to be home.”
The Juneau began its return to the Aavaro Wilds shortly after the awards ceremony to undertake a survey of a pre-warp civilisation on the planet Andassa. Strange energy measurements piqued the crew’s curiosity, and the staff formed away teams for a covert excursion to the surface.
