DELTA QUADRANT – According to a news report purportedly from 40 years into the future, former officers of Amity Outpost will reunite at the derelict station during a war between the Federation and the Lattice Alliance.
As researchers continue to study the intercepted news report supposedly from the future of 2442, more details have emerged about its contents. The following is an excerpt from the report:
Nathan Richards, Director of Operation of Starfleet’s Advanced Starship Design Bureau, is likely to face severe punishment for commandeering the USS Glacier and taking it to site of the Federation Diplomatic Corp’s former embassy and mission. The facility was abandoned by the Federation at the height of the Hirogen civil war.
“Director Richards’ intent may be noble, but his methods are nothing short of reckless,” said Admiral Shribes Th’thialliq at a Starfleet headquarters press conference in San Fransisco. “And in a time of war, where every resource is needed to maintain the Federation and protect our freedom, his actions, and the actions of his crew, are nothing short of treasonous.”
Admiral Th’thialliq also confirmed that the makeshift crew on board the Glacier is comprised of former Amity Starfleet Officers and stationed Starfleet crew. The rogue group includes Doctor Robin Hopper (Research Lead on a clssified project at Daystrom Institute), Mother Perennial Rivi Vataix (Eleventh House of Betazed), Mother Perennial Keehani Ukinix (Ninth House of Betazed), Professor Jansen Orrey (Starfleet Academy), Samantha Dakora (civilian scientist), Colonel Niev Galanis (Starfleet 7th Marine Group) and Captain John Carter (Commanding Officer, USS Anderson).
Starfleet would not release any more names until they have conclusive confirmation of the people on board, but it’s understood that the crew of “Pele’s Revenge”, a pirate ship captained by former Starfleet officer Ikaia Wong, has also joined the renegade ship.
When pressed about the leaked sensational Starfleet log entry presumed to have been recorded by Commander Wil Ukinix (KIA in 2401 at the beginning of the Hirogen civil wars), and asked if the former First Officer had been brought forward in time, Admiral Th’thialliq repeatedly maintained that “investigations are ongoing” and would not comment further. Through its sources, the FNS has previously confirmed the log entry is legitimate – but speculation remains as to the means and motivation of bringing Wil Ukinix forward, figuratively from the dead to the present timeline.
“In fact, no-one is entirely sure of the Glacier’s recommendations overall. We think they’re trying to draw elements of the Lattice Aliance into a trap,” said one unnamed source who did not wish to be identified. “They may have a plan to turn the war. For their sake I hope they do, Starfleet Command are furious and some are discussing the harshest punitive measures for everyone involved,” said the source.
