DENALI STATION — The crew of Denali Station and the USS Eagle face unexpected dangers and revelations in an alternate dimension during a routine satellite deployment mission.
Returning from shore leave, the crew of Denali Station embarked on a routine mission to deploy communication satellites in the vast Ring 42 region. Due to the ring’s immense scale and the interference it causes in nearby space, Commodore Oddas led a team in a runabout to map stronger interference areas, while the USS Eagle followed, using the data to determine optimal satellite deployment locations.
On the bridge of the Eagle, Lieutenant Commanders Falt and Kettick, alongside Commander DeVeau, managed the satellite deployment. The mission’s routine nature allowed Ensigns Harford and McGillian time to familiarize themselves with Denali’s auxiliary vessels. However, the operation took a sudden turn when an unexpected, massive energy wave surged through the area. Although the Eagle’s crew barely raised shields in time, the smaller runabout was overwhelmed, disabling it and sending it crashing just outside the city on the ring.
As the runabout team regained consciousness, they found the ring’s environment drastically altered. Evening had fallen prematurely, and the city was teeming with lights and vehicles, unlike anything they had expected. An unidentified drone soon arrived, demanding their surrender to the Bajoran Hegemony. Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Commodore Oddas destroyed the drone and ordered her team to abandon the wreckage. Fleeing into the city, they encountered Jem’Hadar patrols and propaganda proclaiming the dominance of the Bajoran Hegemony. They narrowly escaped the patrols, finding refuge with a group of fugitives.
Meanwhile, aboard the Eagle, the crew tended to injuries, repaired damaged systems, and grappled with the loss of Commodore Oddas’ runabout. As they considered a rescue mission, another ship approached, firing warning shots and ordering them to surrender. While Commander Falt attempted to negotiate, Ensign Zevash accessed unencrypted data streams, revealing that the attacking ship was commanded by Oddas Ushow, the Commodore’s sister—a revelation that, combined with other anomalies, led the crew to realize they had been transported to an alternate dimension by the energy wave.
Under the threat of weapons and imminent boarding, Commander Falt ordered Lieutenant Commanders Kettick and Kendrick, along with Ensigns Zavesh, McGillian, and Harford, to prepare for combat. Before they could complete their preparations, a shuttle penetrated the Eagle’s weakened shields, landing a small team of boarders on Deck 10. As the intruders advanced, the Eagle was caught in a tractor beam from Ushow’s ship. Commander DeVeau managed to disable the beam with an energy pulse, allowing the Eagle to flee and take cover behind an orbital weapons platform, buying time to repair and repel the boarders. The situation grew more dire as the boarders triggered an explosion on Deck 9.
On the ring, Commodore Oddas and her team, now allied with the fugitives, infiltrated the Science Directorate to uncover information about their predicament. Inside, Oddas was stunned to encounter Ijo Alea, a Bajoran woman who, in their universe, had been married to her but had died in an accident. Alea recounted a similar but reversed story from her universe. When a Vorta entered the room, Alea chose to rebel, aiding Oddas and her team. After a brief skirmish, they defeated the hegemony forces.
Moments later, rebels led by the alternate universe’s version of Lieutenant Commander Falt, known as Villkat, breached the lab, demanding answers about Oddas Aria and her connection to Oddas Ushow. Though skeptical of her explanations, Villkat’s second-in-command urged him to trust Oddas. Reluctantly, Villkat agreed, but before any further assistance could be given, explosions shook the complex, forcing both teams to prepare for defense.
We’ll provide further updates as this story unfolds.
