Featured articles are considered the best our community’s wiki has to offer, as determined by our editors. We use them as examples for writing other articles. Our featured article system is returning after inactivity since 2010, and we are pleased to bring fantastic pages created by our user base to the attention of the wider community.
The system is loosely based on Wikipedia Featured Articles, where users support, oppose, and comment on nominations. You can nominate any page on 118Wiki — including pages you’ve created yourself! The content of a featured article should be of a standard where it can be displayed as high quality examples for other users developing articles of a similar theme. They should be:
- Well-written, comprehensive and accurate.
- Have images, and other media where they are appropriate to the subject, with succinct captions.
- Include links to other articles where appropriate.
- Be of appropriate length, staying focused on the primary topic without going into unnecessary detail.
Nominations for featured articles are open indefinitely, and can be promoted to featured article status when three wiki users (including yourself!) support the article.
