Take Time to Write!

Share this:

We often find that time is always at a premium. Whether it’s the Starbase 118 OOC stuff we want to do, or just an extra sim we want to write, there are always moments when you simply run out of time. Other things begin to take precedence, and before we know it, the time is gone and we have no sims to show for it. Finding time to set aside for your writing pursuits, be it simming or writing a book, takes a certain amount of self determination and a schedule that you will stick to. And while finding the time to write isn’t always something that you’ll be able to do, there are some very easy things you can do to make it a much easier thing to do.

About.com’s Fiction Writing guide sets out a good number of things that you can do in order to facilitate writing time, and when you have a million other things going on in your life, any one of these simple steps might be able to help you uncover the bits of time you’ll need to participate and keep up even when things might seem a little overwhelming. Be sure to head on over to About.com to check out these tips and much more within the Fiction Writing guides you’ll find there. And if you already have time to write, head over there anyways – you might find ways to make your writing time more productive and efficient regardless of what, or who, you write.

  1. Writing time is important to me since I can’t write well. I am always learning, but then forgetting the lessons of writing well. The computer helps me so do cues and hints along the way. I have started the Artist Way book concerning writing. In that the task is to write three long hand pages every morning. To me that is an insurmountable task of tasks and daunting to say the least. But I plod forward with these source materials. In the mixed I have developed a cast of theater characters in my head, the committee, or voices I hear so I have given names to them. The Rational voice might be the ruling voice of voices or senior actor acting running the committee.
