2012 Halloween Avatar Contest Winner Announced

Hurricane/Superstorm Sandy delayed the announcement of our winners this year, but the verdict is finally out! With an amazing turnout this year, six of our eight ships, and above average participation for each of those ships, the contest proved to be a huge hit. For the second year in a row, judging proved to be difficult, but based on originality, design quality, and individual crew participation, the ships were judged.
Category winners are:
Originality: The Embassy with the Duronis II Zoo with Starbase 118 Ops as the runner up with Black and White Stars.
Design: The Embassy with the Durnois II Zoo with the Mercury as the runner up with their mugshots.
and the final, overall winners, decided by taking the above scores and adjusting them according to the percentage of crew who participated are:
Third Place: The USS Mercury (36 of 80 Points)
Second Place: The USS Apollo (47.14 of 80 Points)
First Place: Starbase 118 Ops (60 of 80 Points)
Each crew was the recipient of their very own, newly designed Forums Badge as well as a special award for their wiki awards page.
