Consider your nomination

Pay close attention to the box titled “Your reason for this nomination.” This is where you explain why you believe this person deserves the award. You don’t need to write a lot, but a clear and thoughtful explanation helps the awards team decide if your nominee should be selected.

Keep in mind: others may nominate different players for the same award. Your nomination is what helps determine who receives it. The stronger your reasoning for nomination, the more likely it is that your candidate will be the chosen person for the award.

For some awards, you’ll also see a field to include a sim. While not required, we highly recommend adding a sim to support your nomination—it can really strengthen your nomination.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Who can I nominate for an award? If you’ve attained the rank of Ensign, you can nominate anyone else in the group for any award.
• What about people who are on LOA – can they receive an award? Players who are currently on LOA, retired, or AWOL status are not eligible to receive awards. However, if you nominate someone who goes on LOA or retires after you’ve submitted your nomination but before the awards are presented, they may become ineligible depending on the timing. If a player returns from LOA before the awards ceremony, their eligibility will be reviewed by the awards committees. Bottom line: If you think someone deserves a nomination, go ahead and submit it! The awards team will handle any eligibility details.
• Can I nominate two people for the same award? Yes, if you think they’re both deserving. Nominate them separately.
• Can I nominate a staff member for a General category award? Yes.
• Can I nominate my Captain or First Officer for a Staff category award? Yes, please do!
• What do I do if I’m having trouble with the form? Make sure your ad blocker is turned off, and clear your browser cache. If you’re still having trouble, use the link below to go to the chatroom and ask for help. Worst comes to worst, someone else can submit your nomination for you.
