So you want to interview another writer, huh? That’s great!
One of the ways writers can help out our community is to interview other writers, asking them questions, then posting the results as a post on this very blog. But how do you go about doing this? What’s the best way to approach writers, who should you interview, and what should you ask them?
Let’s find out.
The senior staff of every vessel (that is to say, the player characters) in our community are almost always Starfleet Officers. So although most anyone in the fleet are officers, there are actually three options for players of UFOP: Starbase 118 characters: officers, enlisted crewmen and civilians. This article deals with enlisted crewmen.
Adjutant-Warbringer Marari, a partially-assimilated Vaadwaur.
The Vaadwaur are a species from the Delta quadrant, featured primarily in the Star Trek: Voyager episode “Dragon’s Teeth“. What do they mean for our community?
The Nova-class starship is a tiny but tenacious workhorse of the fleet whose design philosophy focuses around compact size, reliability and a simple but rugged design. Its primary mission task is short-term planetary study, a noticeable shift away from the increasingly more militarized Starfleet design philosophy exemplified in the Defiant and Prometheus classes.
Our community has one active Nova-class starship, the USS Aurora. Let’s learn more about it.
The Gorn Conflict of 2383
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” -George Santayana
Five years ago, the Gorn Confederacy invaded Federation space. The result was a prolonged, bloody war which culminated in the Battle of Eratis. This event was known as the Gorn Conflict of 2383.
Our community allows individual writers to create their own species, communities and civilizations- but the majority of our active characters are established species such as Humans, Vulcans, Andorians and the like. Lt JG Eyas Wulfan-Tine, Chief of Security on the USS Independence-A, instead took a different path- he plays a Pythron, a species mentioned offhandedly in one episode of Star Trek: Deep Space 9. From this he’s sat down and built a whole civilization and culture from the species, and I was lucky enough to be able to ask him a few brief questions.

As most of you are aware by now, with the completion of Captain Toni Turner’s captaincy practical, the crew of the USS Ronin is moving from their current home to the Embassy building on Til’ahn (classed as Duronis II in the Federation), home of the Laudeans.
I was lucky enough to speak to Toni Turner regarding her decision to make this change. I asked her who suggested the move to the Embassy building and Toni replied,
“The candidate for captaincy is allowed to submit a proposal for the command they would like. I proposed the Embassy with the support ship being changed from the USS Resolution to an entirely new ship, the USS Thunder.”
