Gorkon crew undertakes high-stakes mission in Borg controlled universe

UNIMATRIX SEVENTEEN — In a desperate bid to retrieve crucial data, the senior crew of the USS Gorkon (NCC-82293) infiltrated a heavily infested Borg Unimatrix, risking assimilation in a universe where the Borg reign supreme.

Departing from the relative safety of Nassau, the Gorkon concealed itself behind the cloaking shield of a Romulan D’deridex-class warbird en route to what may be its most perilous mission to date. Upon arrival at Unimatrix Seventeen, multiple away teams beamed onto the installation, each assigned a critical task.

Under the supervision of Lieutenant Vylaa zh’Tisav, one team worked to distract the Borg using a combination of engineering, scientific, and medical tactics to ensure Lieutenant Commander Tahna Meru’s team could access the critical data. Their objective was to pinpoint the exact moment when the timeline diverged—when the Borg seized control of this universe. However, scans prior to the mission were inconclusive, with the data’s location obscured deep within the Unimatrix’s most fortified sectors.

Vice Admiral Quinn Reynolds led a separate team responsible for ensuring the Borg could not pursue the Gorkon or its Romulan allies once the mission was complete. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Doz Finch’s team was given an unusual task: to steal a partially constructed Borg sphere, ideally with no Borg drones aboard.

A fifth team, led by Lieutenant Commander Orson Marshall, pursued a different target—the individual believed to have caused the timeline shift, the borgified form of Daffyd Johnson.

“I asked one of our enlisted security officers for their thoughts on this mission, but all I got was a low grunt,” said reporter Will Weg, the sole journalist aboard the Gorkon. “Or maybe that sums up how everyone on this ship feels right now. I can’t even imagine what those on the Unimatrix are experiencing.”

Further updates will follow as information becomes available—unless, of course, the Borg assimilate every last member of the away teams.
