USS Ronin and USS Khitomer Repairs and Extended Shore Leave Continue at Deep Space Nine

DEEP SPACE NINE – Repairs to the USS Ronin and USS Khitomer following the defense of Deep Space Thirty-Three have taken longer than anticipated, primarily due to the severe damage sustained by the Ronin.

The extended timeline for repairs granted both crews an opportunity for an extended joint shore leave aboard Deep Space Nine.

Members of the Ronin and Khitomer crews were frequently spotted throughout the station, enjoying classic DS9 locales such as Quark’s Bar, the Replimat, and Garak’s tailor shop. Leisure activities extended beyond the station as well, with some Ronin crew members embarking on scientific excursions via runabout to nearby areas, as well as planetary trips to Bajor. Among these was a small camping trip to the Besti Woods, located just outside the Bajoran capital. Additionally, reports indicate the Ronin’s First Officer attended the wedding of Commander Serala, who was recently appointed as Captain of the USS Chin’toka.

Shore leave was not without its own drama, as station security responded to an altercation involving members of the Ronin crew and as-yet unidentified individuals. Rumors suggest the dispute may have stemmed from a recent game of Dabo, though these claims remain unverified.

The Akira-class Ronin is now in much better condition than when she arrived at DS9. With repairs nearing completion, it is expected that the Ronin and her crew will soon resume their duties in the Alpha Isles. Final checks and finishing touches on the starship’s repairs are underway, signaling an imminent return to active service.
