Deep Space 26, Paldor II, Par’tha Expanse – After a Rocky Start with Frontier Day, the USS Chin’toak Sets Off For the Par’tha Expanse
Finally underway the USS Chin’toka, under the official command of Cmdr. Serala, arrived back in the Par’tha expanse after several weeks of refitting and recovery following the events of Frontier Day. What was hoped to be an exploratory mission soon turned into a dangerous situation as Deep Space 26 was found to have been attacked. At this time all signs point to an attack by the Valcarian Imperial Republic.
Search and rescue teams, as well as medics have been dispatched to the Paldor II moon to aid survivors. Lt. T’Ama who was leaving as part of an team had this to say about the resources the Chin’toka could provide: “While the Chin’toka has an evacuation limit of 4500, we are not in an unoccupied area of space and are merely the first responders on the scene. I expect further help will arrive from the Caraadians in the coming hours and days before our resources are exhausted and a joint effort will be made to save Starfleet and Caraadians lives and recover and rebuild.” Reports indicate that survivors of the attack have been found and are being treated on the moonbase and back aboard the Chin’toka.
Medical team member Dr. Leeana Edrei had this to say about how things were going: “Awfully, I wish I’d stayed in bed this morning.” Reports from the away team and the bridge indicate a wide range of injuries and an infestation of some kind. Nurse Rox Queen would not answer questions commenting only “leave your name and number; we won’t call you back.” This reporter left his name and number. Given past dealings with the source, no further comment is expected.
There have even been tense moments on the bridge as specialized scans revealed several cloaked Valcarian vessels still in the vicinity. While the Chin’toka is far superior to most Valcarian craft, the bridge crew is anxious to avoid further damage to DS26. “I have a long and storied history with the Valcarians,” Serala stated. “However, despite my history with the VIR, it’s my intention to try and come to a peaceful resolution to this crisis and aid the Paldorian government as much as Starfleet Regulations and our treaties will allow.”
