HERMES OUTPOST – Crew battle for control of USS Constitution-B
The battle for control of the USS Constitution NCC-9012-B raged as the Starfleet crew fought to reclaim their ship from the changelings who had infiltrated their ranks. The tide was finally turning in favor of the crew.
Cmdr Azura Ada had made a breakthrough, using transporter data to confirm that LtCmdr Laria Herren and Cmdre Jalana Rajel were actually changelings. To prevent further deception, she broadcasted this information shipwide, ensuring the shapeshifters would lose the element of surprise. Meanwhile, Lt Lystra apprehended a changeling posing as Lt Elenor Park.
Back aboard the Constitution, the mission specialists’ office became a hub of activity. SenCmdr Nugra, LtCmdr T’Mar, and Lt Ollo scanned Hermes Station and identified a “dead spot” they suspected held missing crew members. They relayed this intelligence to Ens Felbri, urging the formation of a rescue team to free their comrades without tipping off any remaining shapeshifters.
In another part of the ship, First Officer Lt Cmdr Diz’mim Ch’Nilmani and LtCmdr T’Seva proved their authenticity by undergoing a low-energy phaser sweep—a method that would destabilize a changeling. Everyone in their group followed suit, solidifying trust. With their numbers bolstered, Ch’Nilmani divided the crew into task forces to take back the ship.
Meanwhile, Ch’Nilmani, LtJG Cain, and Lt Terpes set their sights on the bridge. Forcing their way in, they were surprised to find it empty—an ominous discovery given the chaos aboard the ship. But their relief was short-lived. Scanners revealed an alarming development: the pirates who had attacked earlier were back!
With the ship controls being locked down by the changeling Herren’s special subroutine, the crew had to become creative to fight back. T’Seva, Lt Flores, and Ba’el were assigned to engineering and were able to reroute controls by creating a new computer core lead to the ship regaining their shields and weapons, though flight control was still locked out. OPS offered the experimental solution of transporting hazardous material into specific locations near the ship to interrupt the automated orbiting programming by posing danger. Which actually worked and lead to course corrections, that allowed the ship to evade weapon fire from the enemy.
Over at Hermes Outpost, Lt Shimisi and Ens Bosko captured another shifter masquerading as their Chief Engineer before they were joined by Felbri, Zeylinn and Terpes out to find their missing crew members. Last we heard they identified the location of the dead spot and coincided it with a power fluctuation in the pattern of a distress morse code. It is only a matter of time until the Commodore and Second Officer would be found. We hope that Park and Lida are not far off to return them to the ship as well.
