The Nightmare Has Ended: USS Artemis Undergoes Extensive Repairs After Harrowing Frontier Day Debacle

SOL SYSTEM – The USS Artemis-A (NCC-81287) remains on station near Earth as it undergoes extensive repairs in the wake of the Frontier Day disaster.

The USS Artemis crew played a pivotal role in ending the Borg-compromised threat during the final hours of the Frontier Day conflict. Led by Captain Addison MacKenzie, along with Lt Commander Talos Dakora and Lieutenant Vitor Silveira, a team successfully stormed the bridge with minimal resistance, thanks to the support of their comrades below decks.

Another team, composed of Commander Genkos Adea, Lieutenant Jovenan, and Lieutenant Nathan Richards, cleared the way with precision, deploying a specialized gas mixture that incapacitated their assimilated crewmates. The only casualty during this operation was Lt Commander Robin Hopper, severely wounded in a surprise attack by one of the Borg-afflicted officers.

As Captain MacKenzie and her team began coordinating efforts to assist the remaining survivors, the Borg signal was severed, marking the end of the Frontier Day nightmare. However, as damage reports and crew losses began to filter in, it became evident that the challenges for the Artemis were far from over.

Nearly 30% of the Artemis crew had been killed or incapacitated in the fighting, and extensive damage to multiple sections of the ship left the vessel among those remaining in the Sol System for repairs. While the crew worked tirelessly to restore the ship, the Command Staff faced the task of balancing the grueling repair schedule with the emotional toll on the crew.

Many sought solace in the ship’s lounge, Elysium, while others used the opportunity to visit family and friends on Earth. Some buried themselves in the heavy workload left by fallen colleagues. “I have served for over a decade. Never before have I faced such a challenge, one that struck deep in the core of Starfleet and the Federation itself,” said Lieutenant Vitor Silveira when asked about the future steps for the Artemis crew. “Still, we endured even with such cost. Now, using an old expression from my homeland, it’s time to bury the dead and take care of the living.”

As the days progress, the crew of the Artemis remains focused on rebuilding both their ship and their ranks, determined to return to full strength as swiftly as possible.
