STARBASE 118 – The crew of StarBase 118 celebrated their victory during Frontier Day and welcomed a new Commanding Officer. Following the events of Frontier Day, Commodore Taybrim moved to sector command and established Commander Gogigobo Fairhug as Ops’ newest Commanding Officer.
Big changes came to StarBase 118 Ops. Following the victory of Frontier Day, Starfleet Command faced serious losses and pulled back Admiral Vivian Hauke to help bolster the rebuilding efforts in Sol sector. Admiral Hauke named Commodore Sal Taybrim as her successor for sector commander. Unable to fulfil this new role and maintain the commanding officer position on StarBase 118, Commodore Taybrim established long-time first officer Commander Gogigobo Fairhug as the new Commanding Officer of Ops.
This announcement came during a lavish celebration at the Primrose Gardens in Ops’ San Francisco District where the crew celebrated the crew’s achievements on Bardeez and during Frontier Day. Commander Fairhug chose Lt. Commander Shar’Wyn Foster as his new Executive Officer. Lieutenant Corey Wethern moved into the open position of Chief Medical Officer. The field promotions made prior to Frontier Day were formalised and Lieutenants Korras and Haukea Willow joined Ops’ strong core of up-and-coming officers. Commodore Taybrim welcomed newcomer Ensign Ryden Kel and welcomed back his old friend Captain Theo Whittaker who is an integral part of the fleet reconstruction effort.
“It was like a fairytale, watching all these heroes get recognised for their astounding achievements on a stage filled with starlight and flowers.” Amalia Vess, head of hospitality at Primrose Gardens commented.
Commander Fairhug’s first action as commanding officer was to announce a crew-building activity designed by Lieutenants Wethern and Evan Ross – a holodeck simulation of the Bell Riots to engage the new crew.
“There was a slight energy fluctuation in the seventh grid.” Engineer Alvin Stratton remarked. “But it’s a holosimulation, what could possibly go wrong?” We will follow this story to see if anything develops.
