MARCHLANDS –Damage discovered during repairs of Hermes Outpost reveal possible foul play.
After responding to a distress call from Hermes Station, near the Tholian border, the crew of the USS Constitution-B NCC-9012-B found themselves with a brief moment of reprieve. The unknown enemy responsible for the attack on the Federation installation retreated after being countered by the Galaxy-class starship, leaving the crew with questions about what had just unfolded.
Seizing the opportunity, the crew immediately began repairs. Lt. Commander Lida Khenn coordinated engineering efforts aboard the Constitution, while Lieutenant Shimisi and Ensign Jiroo Zaka led a team to assess damage at Hermes Station. The situation proved dire, with extensive damage requiring multiple teams to begin repairs both aboard the station and on the surface.
As Zaka’s team worked on the internal sensors, they made a startling discovery—signs of older damage, seemingly unrelated to the recent attack. “The affected parts seemed to have been damaged before the attack happened,” one witness shared. This raised troubling questions: Was the station sabotaged before the assault? Could an insider have aided the attackers? So far, neither the leadership nor Security have issued statements regarding whether an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, the search and rescue efforts are in full swing. Lt Commander Ellie Park is leading a team to locate any remaining survivors, including one trapped beneath the collapsed structure. A medical officer heard the survivor’s cries but was unable to reach them alone. The number of fatalities from the attack remains unclear, but with the internal sensors coming back online, those answers may be revealed soon.
Commodore Jalana Rajel and Lt Commander Laria Herren have been in talks with Hermes Station’s commanding officer, Captain Va, trying to piece together who launched the attack and what their goal might have been. Although concrete information remains elusive, the Constitution’s leadership is preparing for the worst, reaching out to potential allies like the Klingons, Cardassians, and other neighboring species for backup forces in case the attackers return.
Aboard the Constitution, Lt Commander Diz’mim Ch’Nilmani has been tasked with ensuring the ship is ready for any further engagement, continuing the crew’s preparation for whatever might come next.
Just as things seemed to be stabilizing, the situation took a grim turn. News of the attack on Earth and the disastrous events of Frontier Day reached the Constitution, causing widespread distress among the crew. Security and counseling were called in to manage the turmoil. Lieutenant Lystra and Ensign Ba’el took the lead, handling disturbances in key areas, including the ship’s Saloon and classrooms filled with panicking children.
“I thought things were going to become a lot worse,” Ensign Vivix recounted. “Lystra and Ba’el came just in time. Ba’el was amazing at calming everyone.”
However, not all eyewitnesses agreed on how the situation was handled. Some reported that Ba’el raised her voice, demanding the children stop crying, which shocked them into silence. Regardless of the method, the outcome was the same—the children were subdued, and order was restored.
Now, the pressing questions remain: Can the Constitution crew restore Hermes Station to working order before the attackers return? Was the station sabotaged, or was it simply a series of unfortunate events? Time will tell.
