USS Constitution searches for missing away teams

MARCHLANDS – While investigating strange sensor readings on an uninhabited planet, two away teams, one led by the captain, vanished into 1990s Salem, Massachusetts, leaving the USS Constitution’s bridge crew to figure out what happened.

Following orders from Starfleet Command, the crew of the USS Constitution had been sent to an uninhabited planet in the Marchlands to investigate very unusual sensor readings. After establishing orbit, the crew found it increasingly difficult to determine what was going on down on the surface. The decision was made to send two away teams down to investigate. Shortly after, Capt. Jalana Rajel announced that she would be leading one of the teams her self.
As the two shuttles departed the Constitution, the bridge crew, led by Cmdr. Alex Blair, the Constitution’s new First Officer, monitored their descent towards the surface. After several minutes, passed with spotty sensor readings, Ens. Elaina Ren said the one sentence a commanding officer never wants to hear.
“Sir, I think we’ve lost vitals and combadge connection with the crews!” said Ren.
Desperate to figure out what was going on, and how to find their captain, the bridge bombarded the surface with every type of scan available, only to be met with ancient maritime signals that no one could quite explain.
Meanwhile on the surface, after surviving turbulent trips to the ground, both shuttle crews momentarily lose consciousness. When they awoke, both teams found themselves in completely different environments with one common theme – strange music about creepy situations playing in the distance.
Beginning an investigation, both teams found that they had somehow been transported to Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween in the 1990s.
As the teams finally connected through their combadges, another surprise surfaced. A pair of Starfleet officers from an expedition fifty years in the past approached them, looking for help in getting home.
Back on the Constitution, the bridge crew struck lucky when the interference that had been affecting all of their sensor readings began to clear. With a better picture of the surface, they found both the shuttles, as well as readings from an old Starfleet shuttle, which gave them hope that Rajel and both away teams were still alive. This invigorated the bridge crew in their quest to figure out what had happened.
