USS Atlantis crew investigates Caraadian-Valkarian conflict and trains marine starfighters

PAR’THA EXPANSE – After enduring a second encounter with the robots from the Consortium, the crew of the USS Atlantis began a much-needed shore leave, recuperating from the previous mission and preparing for the challenges ahead.
While many of the crew welcomed the leave and the chance to relax, the medical staff endured long hours to ensure annual medical checks were up to date, having been postponed for too long. As always, not everyone on the ship was eager to attend these seasonal appointments, so Doctor Cattan and her new staff member Ensign Kecskemeti had to try hard to make sure everyone attended.
In the meantime, Ensign Knight and Lieutenant Commander Williams used most of their spare time to conduct a thorough investigation into what appeared to be a possible new war front between the great Caraadian houses and the Valkarians, with one party building up a large fleet to punch through the lines and inflict massive damage on the industry and civilian grounds of the other.
On a more cheerful note, a rumor began spreading that Captain Brell would soon be performing his first wedding ceremony. Lieutenant Junior Grade Serala seems to be the lucky lady but who her future spouse will be is still part of a large debate. Bookkeeper Zogi said the majority of the crew was putting its latinum on Lieutenant Raga, although some reports suggested the hero of the past few months had displayed sadness for a few days.
Flying on the wings of good news was Marine Captain McKnight, who was found to be very optimistic. With a new training program finished, the Atlantis may be one step closer to having a few fighter wings in its shuttle bay soon. For now, the Marines are training in a simulator, but that could well be the final step towards actually converting a hanger to hold a small group of fighters, adding to the ships defensive capabilities – something that many consider vital so close to a war zone.
On the receiving end of a tumultuous time, danger seemed to find the same ship over and over – a fact which did not seem to escape the new crew either.
“It must be nearly over by now,” said Doctor Kecskemeti, echoing the sentiments of the crew at large.
There is a lingering hope that a period of respite will be found by the ship, although most people know that probably won’t happen. With a fit and well-rested crew, the Atlantis is ready for its next adventure.
