Celebrations on the Constitution ensue while en route to uninhabited planet

MARCHLANDS – En route to their next mission, the crew of the USS Constitution-B come together to celebrate rewards and promotions.

Just as the repair teams of Starbase 104 finished with their work aboard the USS Constitution (NCC-9012-B), Capt. Jalana Rajel received word from Starfleet HQ about their new mission. On their way through the Marchlands, the crew of another vessel had picked up unusual and unnatural readings and the Constitution was being sent to investigate.
“I am sending you the coordinates,” explained Commodore Xic to Rajel. “On its own, it doesn’t look too special but what makes no sense is, that the planet is not inhabited and doesn’t sustain life.”
After informing the new First Officer, Cmdr. Alex Blair, of their mission and ordering the recall of the crew from shore leave, Rajel gave the order for the Constitution to depart the starbase.
The evening after their departure, and while the Constitution was en route, the senior staff were called to the ship’s newly renovated lounge, The Saloon, for a celebration. As they entered the lounge, the crew was welcomed by the atmosphere of a saloon for Earth’s old Wild West, complete with holographic pianists.
During the ceremony, the crew celebrated various merited ribbons from their previous mission and congratulated the promotions of Ens. Edward Spears and Ens. Jacob Horne to the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade. The party also served as a welcome aboard setting for various new crew members, having boarded just before the Constitution departed the space station.
Eventually, the party wound down, and early the next morning the ship neared their destination.
As the bridge crew started scanning the area, trying to begin the process of putting the puzzle pieces together, the decision was made to send two teams to the planet’s surface via shuttlecraft to investigate. After announcing to Blair that she would be leading one of the teams, Rajel called for the rest of the senior staff to join them on the bridge for a pre-action briefing, before descending to the planet below.
