Welcome to day three of the annual awards ceremony!
Yesterday we announced the recipients of the Staff and General Awards. Today we’re proud to present the Length of Service and Special Awards. We have introduced two new special awards this year:
The Community Champion Award: For members who participate in – or help facilitate – simming community events, representing the best of UFOP: SB118 to other organizations by hosting events, acting as contest judges, or otherwise contributing their expertise in a way that benefits the wider community.
The Trailblazer Award: For members who originate a creative and innovative way for the fleet to engage with each other and the Star Trek universe. These participants provide unique opportunities that help to make our game an immersive and unique Star Trek experience.
Just like with the Duty Post Awards, only one of each Special Award is given each year, with one notable exception: The Xalor Clan Xifilis Award, which is recognition of any player that overcomes a disadvantage or disability to continue simming faithfully. We don’t compare or weigh one person’s struggles against another, but rather award this to all eligible and deserving candidates who are nominated for it.
We have a very special presentation of the second Great Bird Award presentation in the history of our community. This is the first time it will be presented in over a decade. This award is the highest honor given to any officer, and is given to an officer who helps develop and/or invents a new way of simming, a new way of thinking, or a new way of looking at the Star Trek universe.
And who can forget the Length of Service Awards, which recognize those members whose long-term dedication has helped build and sustain our community? Three members join the 10-year club this year!
Head to the forums now to see who received each of the Length of Service and Special Awards from each ship across the fleet, and be sure to congratulate the winners!
