Diplomat murdered in holodeck

ASTROFORI ONE — The grisly discovery of a dead diplomat turned a celebration into a murder investigation.
The crew of the USS Gorkon docked at Astrofori One for some well-deserved shore leave, which concluded with an awards ceremony held in a holodeck simulation of a nineteenth-century Gothic manor house. In addition to the Gorkon‘s crew, diplomats, media and visiting Starfleet officials were in attendance, with everyone except the diplomats in full Victorian costume. After enjoying drinks, chatter, and the occasional pool game, the crew were summoned to the manor’s dining room for the ceremony itself.
Beginning with a speech from Captain Quinn Reynolds, several of the crew were recognised for their valiant actions and quick-thinking during the rescue of the USS Tharsis. Lieutenant (JG) Lael Rosek and Lieutenant Cory Stoyer received the Captain’s Commendation for their dedication and fortitude after taking losses in a firefight. Lieutenant Ayiana Sevo was rewarded for her courage and ingenuity by receiving the Good Conduct and Innovation Ribbons. Ensign Jansen Orrey sustained an injury in the line of duty while talking down a hostile officer, and thus was awarded the Purple Heart and Diplomacy Ribbons. In addition, the entire crew were rewarded with the Medical Science Ribbon, for their contributions toward finding a cure for the parasitic infection that prompted the disaster.
Afterwards, the crew settled in for a night of celebration and entertainment — but it was not to be. The grisly discovery of a murdered Cardassian diplomat in the manor library brought with it the discovery that everyone was trapped inside the holodeck, with no way to contact the outside world.
The Gorkon crew swung into action: Captain Reynolds led a team in a forensic investigation of the crime scene, Lt. Commander Skyfire and his team began to search for a way to escape the holodeck, and Commander Vess led a group who sought to prevent the situation from becoming common knowledge and inciting panic among the guests.
