Starbase 118 Welcomes Melinda Snodgrass

Melinda SnodgrassAs part of our Writing Improvement Project, Starbase 118 would like to extend a warm welcome and sincere thanks To Melinda Snodgrass, Author of the science-fantasy story The Edge of Reason.
The Edge of Reason tells the story of Albuquerque Police officer Richard Oort, as he finds himself caught up in a battle which pits two worlds against one another. One one side, The Old Ones, the manifestation of the primal forced of magic and fanaticism, feeding on the suffering of mankind. On the other side, the Luminus, the unseen defenders of men, determined to keep the Old Ones under control.
After rescuing a young girl from a pack of hunters, Officer Oort finds himself recruited by the Luminus, tasked with acting as their champion in the battle that looms on the horizon, while the Old Ones do anything within their power to either stop Richard, and his unlikely allies, or subvert them to their own cause. There isn’t much time left to keep our world and the world of the Old Ones from bleeding into one another., creating a world where the only constant is suffering.
Snodgrass is also no stranger to the world of Star Trek either. She is the writer of the Star Trek: The Next Generation season 3 episode “The Ensigns of Command.” After nearly a century of silence, the mysterious Sheliac reach out to contact the crew of the USS Enterprise, claiming that they have found a human colony within their territory. According to a treaty signed by both sides, the Enterprise has only four days to remove a colony of nearly 15,000 people who are of no mind to do so. Whether they want to move or not, the Sheliac are coming, and it’s up to Commander Data to find a solution to the problem before the Sheliac solve it themselves.
Snodgrass is also know for her part in the 22-book, Hugo Award nominated Wild Card series, written in conjunction with George R. R. Martin.
Starbase 118 Staff are extremely proud and grateful to have Melinda Snodgrass as a part of or Writing Improvement month, and we hope you’ll take the time to thank her by reading her new book The Edge of Reasonavailable in paperback and eBook format from Amazon.
