Forum Tip of the Week: e-mail notifications

You can easily find out when there are new posts in a forum or thread that you’re interested-in. This is particularly useful for your favorite ship or guild, where posts might not be happening every day.
First, we’ll want to make sure that your e-mail address is up-to-date on the forum software. So, click your user name in the upper right-hand corner of the forum page. A drop-down will appear; choose “My Settings.” On the settings page, click “Change Email Address” on the left-hand menu. You’ll see your e-mail address and have the option of updating it if it’s incorrect.
Now, let’s head to a forum you’re interested in keeping watch on. The “UFOP: SB118 Group Discussion” category has lots of infrequently updated forums, like guilds, group elements (the website, Award Ceremonies, etc.), and duty posts. Pick any forum and click on it.
You’ll notice that right above the list of forum threads, on the right-hand side of the page, there are two buttons: “Watch forum” and “Start new thread.” If you click the “Watch forum” button, you’ll receive an e-mail any time a new thread is posted here.
Similarly, if you click on any thread in the forum, you’ll see a “Watch this topic” button near the same place on the thread page. If you click this button, you’ll receive an e-mail notification any time someone replies to the thread.
In this way, you can keep up with your favorite forums, and ensure that you don’t miss any discussions on things you have interest in!
