Creating a Guild

A guild can be formed by bringing together at least three members who all represent characters of the guild's target audience. It is acceptable for these characters to be secondary characters of the writers.

Introducing the Guild

To introduce the group to the prospective new guild, the interested members should post a new thread in the "Guilds Forum" with the subject line being the name of their guild. The individual who posts the thread should include the intent of the guild (i.e.- "Represent all characters of ____ species..."), and should request that anyone interested please post with their request to join.

(If there is only one interested member, she should solicit other members to become founders. A guild will not gain recognition, however, until it has at least three active members.)

There should be at least a week's worth of time for the post to attract attention, during which time the founding members may wish to begin formulating a plan and spreading information about their new guild. At the conclusion of the week's time, provided the guild has three founding members, the prospective guild should elect a Guild Facilitator (GF). This member will simply be the primary source of contact for the guild, and should at least intend to foster and facilitate discussion and activities for the time-being.

Petitioning for Recognition

Once the actions above have occured, the GF should now create a new thread in the "Guild Headquarters" forum. This thread should use the following subject line, editing it as appropriate for the name of the suggested guild:

"RFR: Guild of Vulcans"

"RFR" stands for "Request for Recognition." In this thread, the GF should present guild's primary intent, the names of all founding members, and a possible first project for the guild. The GF should then request that the guild be recognized formally.

FltAdml. Wolf will seek the necessary recognition from the Captains Council and will then report back to this thread on the success of the petition. Assuming the Captains Council approves, Wolf will then create the following:

  • A guild forum;
  • A guild area in the taskforces pages on the main website;
  • A guild area on the wiki;
  • A Yahoo! Group (upon request only).
