Request to Return
We're very glad that you're wanting to return to our group! It's always wonderful to have those simmers who've had to step away temporarily come back and return to the adventure! Please take a read over the following notes, before we get started.
Less than six months away?
If you do fit all of the qualifications below, then you do not have to use this form. Instead, contact your former Commanding Officer and explain that you are ready to return to active status.
Qualifications:
- You have been gone for less than six months;
- You wish to return to the same vessel you were on previously;
- The commanding officer of the vessel is the same.
Last retirement
Please be aware that if you've been away from the group for more than six months, we will ask you to first undergo a re-training session (as a cadet) to "get back in the habit." It's not a disciplinary action or anything like that, we just want to help re-fresh you on simming and get you in the habit of simming often before we get you back on a ship.
Rank
If you left the group as any rank between Ensign and Lieutenant Commander, it will be at the discretion of the Commanding Officer on your new vessel as to what rank you will return at. Generally, if you were gone from the group for more than a year, you will likely return at a rank lower than you left. If you were gone from the group for six to 12 months, your CO may have you return at the same rank, or one rank lower. If you were gone from the group for less than six months, you will generally return at the same rank.
However, please keep in mind that during training, and until posting to a vessel, you will be considered a "Cadet."
