Welcome back POW fans,

Back with another "Nails on a chalk board" we are about to take a magnifying glass to the crew that really did go where few Federation citizens dared to go, the crew of the USS Voyager. Now its often been said that news travels fast on even the largest star ships. So I have to wonder how those people would feel about their ship mates and who they would peg as the most irritating. Having said that this poll is about you and your preference, so who did you really find irritating and why?

Don't forget to stick around to add a comment or two because that's where the fun begins.

I'm pretty consistent in who I've found irritating. It's those characters who are so full of their own belief that they are smarter, wiser and more moral than anyone else whether Bajoran priestess or self proclaimed sage. Chokotay definitely fits into that category. He could never refrain from spouting off some cliche of ancient wisdom as if no one else every gave a thought to common sense or decent behavior. That with the irritating tattoo which occasionally changed sides on his face made him my choice.

It has to be Neelix, particularly in the first season. He is the only star trek character that really irritates me.

I've always like Chokotay, always felt a bit like a father figure particularly to B'Elanna.

Chakotay absolutely - except those few episodes where he was great sage and his wisdom were always followed by that highly unnatural obviously fake smile, he was nothing but a pot plant on the bridge. That character was never finished and it was obvious, he had nothing of his own, no personality.. yak!

I like Tuvok as a character, but during missions, the writers gave him most of the attention. I don't know how many times he was possessed and tried to kill the crew, but there was always something happening to that Vulcan.

Chakotay, hands down. The others had their annoying aspects and quirks, but I could always find excuses or reasons motivating them. There is no excuse for Chakotay!

B'Elanna Torres always seemed a bit whiny to me for a klingon something just bugged me about her.

Chakotay because he hadn't dimension or depth.

7of 9 too full of herself, a Borg Wesley Crusher.

Kes ,she too was a victim of not much depth.

They gave more to Tom,and Tuvok than others, also could have done so with Janeway.

This is so hard, there were so many characters on the show I really did not like....I think the reverse should be done for Voyager, who was the character I liked the most....other then the (ok, I am clearly bias of 7 of 9, my ears shut down and an my eyes open bigger). Alright...head out of the gutter....the question still remains....so many choices.Chakotay....Just could never see him commanding any ship...there would be a mutiny after the first day. However Kes, would be my second choice followed by Neelix...but he was at least enterienting in some respects...Favorite character ...the doc...love dry humor....Harry seemed likable as well..they never did too much with him however.

Tom Paris. He and Harry for me where just an attempted re-run of Bashir and O'brien but younger. For me it didn't work couple that with his so called "Witty" remarks he tops it for me.

I don't think Chakotay was a bad character, they could of done more with the Marquis though...

Neelix hands down. After the first season he should have grasped the concept that when the captain asks you to do something you do it and moan later

Voyager had, by far, the most squandered potential of any series when it came to character development. Most of the characters seemed to be in some way... unfinished. It always seemed to me that they had potential that was never fully explored.

I agree it felt kind of like they just wanted to put out a new show to keep interest and slapped something together. Of course I did not care much for the first 2 seasons of TNG either it was like they tried to make it a direct copy of the original and then about the 3rd season they turned it around adding depth to characters

Agreed....I thought it was the weakest of the all the series....but I watched every single one of them hoping for something. There were some good shows..

I think it would be interesting to see maybe a show about a group of Cadets that could be interesting and maybe bring in a younger crowd.

That's because season three was when they finally let Johnathan Frakes start using his beard-powers.

I voted for Kim, but it was really a draw between Kim and Chakotay. You'd think seven years in the DQ might change a person, but they were both more or less the same throughout. As for the cause? I think it was a mix between inconsistent writing, network interference, and actor apathy.

The winner of the character development contest during Voyager's seven seasons was undoubtedly The Doctor. Mulgrew, Dawson and Russ all made efforts, and having watched Lien's acting in other roles post-Voyager, she could have taken Kes places Ryan never took Seven of Nine... if she'd had the chance.

I once read a (semi-) satirical blog post by a psychology grad student who, having watched all seven seasons, concluded that the major series-long character arc on the show was Janeway's gradual succumbing to bipolar disorder.

LOL, maybe it was the loss of the bun. It seems that the big flap in the first seasons was whether Janeway's bun made her too severe, too like a school marm, but, alas, would a softer do make her seem less like a CO? To bun or not to bun, that was the question. Maybe losing it had an affect on her.

Janeway was an issue, but never to the point of being too annoying. Neelix should have been airlocked somewhere along the way, and I would have loved to see more character development of everyone stranded far from home.Which show DID get it right for the most part? Battlestar Galactica.
