Hello PoW fans! In our third installment of our bi-weekly series, we're shining a spotlight on the lesser-known of J. G. Hertzler's characters in Trek to ask which of his non-Martok appearances you liked the best! As usual, episode references are provided to give you a lovely 'to watch' list for the week!

As usual, let us know why you've made your choice!

J.G. is a great character actor, especially when it comes to Klingons. (I love hearing about him being as close to in-character Martok when he is at Conventions. I hope I get to see him in person some day.)

However, I had to go with his performance in "Far Beyond the Stars." It's such a good episode and although his character doesn't make much of an appearance, it is still quite memorable.

Hirogen are just plain cool the way they hunt down their quarry, but they are a blood thirsty bunch. LOL

For me "Far Beyond the Stars" was one of the weirder DS9 episodes I watched. While it was interesting to see the whole cast in that context I think his performance as Laas was far better.

I really like all of the characters in that list, but I went with Laas too because he was probably the furthest away from Martok. That episode was really different in many ways. Interestingly, they didn't credit him as J.G. Hertzler either (although it was definitely him!)

I watched "Far Beyond the Stars" today as it happens, so I went for Roy. As stated he's not in it much, but it was fun to see him completely out of make-up, but for me the clincher has to be the huge cigar he smokes. It's just something so "him" it works. Martok needed a cigar...

That's why I picked Roy as well. To see J.G. out of make up and he seemed to enjoy the part as did Rene'. :)
