Looking for a chat moderator

We need someone who can schedule monthly OOC chats, and ship chats. Responsibilities include:

* Monitoring as many of the chats as possible (not required to attend all)
* Planning chat events. i.e.- have a list of OOC discussion topics, plan an IC plot for a side-room, etc.
* Set dates for chat events
* Post chat reminders on the news and in this chat forum

I'd help out with this, but my timezone usually means that I'm not able to attend most of them. :(

I've never moderated a chat room before, but since we haven't had a fleetwide chat in a while I'd like to learn so we can get them started again.

I would put my name forward, as I'd like to get involved in something like this and I use IRC extensively for other things so I'm always logged in. I'm only an Ensign at the moment though, so I guess I'll have to wait! :P

OK, just read the mIRC FAQ, I think I've gotten it figured out :) Fully volunteering for the job!

I haven't moderated a chat room before either but like Alucard I am happy to learn. :) I will put my name forward too as I am willing to do this and/or support anyone else in doing this.

Sure, I'd love for the two of you two work together to make this happen! Are either of you interested in maybe switching off times? We could potentially do two chats a month -- one geared toward American folks, another geared toward UK/Australian folks? Times could be as follows:

1. American: 2nd Sunday of the month, 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern
2. UK/AUS: 2nd Sunday of the month, 10am GMT / 9pm UTC +11

What do you folks think?

You'd be responsible for the following:
  • Scheduling dates/times
  • Setting up chat reminders in the News system (3 each month: first a week before a chat, second the day before the chat, third after the chat scheduling the next time/date)
  • Reminding me 2 days before each chat so I could send out reminders to the fleet
Moderating the chats is mainly about being there, perhaps facilitating some discussion, but it's pretty low key.

Additionally, we did a live sim a few weeks ago and "re-learned" some of the knowledge of how they work, and could potentially do a live sim in one or both of the chats? Seems like everyone really enjoyed it :)

Yeah, that works for me. I don't know about Evanna, but I'm smack in the middle of Indiana so the US time slot would work best for me, but I'm also flexible. How does adding News reminders work? I'm pretty sure I don't have access to that.
