Hey everyone, I opened up this to talk about basically anything about simming a civilian. What is the most fun/difficult/exciting... etc?

I guess I will start off.

My favorite part about simming a Civilian, especially a child, is how different it is from the other duty posts. Of course, that also leads to it being the most difficult. Ergo, sometimes I am unsure whether I am simming my character as being too childish or too mature.

Thoughts?

You've been doing a very good job balancing the two so far. From Greekle's point of view, you are kinda like the neighborhood crime watch. You go in behind the officers and really see what is happening on the ship. Greekle would be the first to spot a mutiny before it ever occurred. I guess what I am saying,  playing a civilian is more like simming a person window shopping, that stops and puts their nose up against the window. From their view point, they have a perspective that the others inside the store don't.

Interesting topic Greekle. I suppose my question would be, would a cook be considered on a starship? I know that we have replicators and that such, but I think that sometimes the officers would prefer "real" food. Of course, if thats that case... I have an idea for a new NPC :)

Hey, everyone. In the last mission I started an NPC (who became a de facto PNPC) who ended up being taken prisoner. She was a refugee from a hostile cult, but the circumstances of her capture made her look fairly suspicious. After our mission was completed no one addressed the issue, so she is sort of in limbo.

Anyone else have similar situations involving integrating civilians into posts and the goings-on of their ships?

I had a child PNPC named Sarah Lowe, and I found it difficult to sim her without getting her into trouble during missions. Both her parents were officers, which meant they were both on duty. I think I also simmed her a little too young for her actual age . . .
