Hello everyone!
To begin with, I'd like to direct your attention over to the Engineering IC Mission. In a nutshell, the engineers of the SB118 Fleet are getting together an engineers-only mission where they'll sim themselves testing an experimental transwarp ship.
What do we have to do with that? Well, nothing, and that's the point. Counseling is viewed by many in the Fleet as the toughest duty post ... but the fact that we've stuck with it and excelled deserves, I think, some recognition. No, this isn't a thread for metal distribution, but rather a call for our own IC get-together.
Right now, I'm just looking to gauge interest. Would you be interested in simming your main character, as they are now, to some sort of conference with the other counselors of SB118? A plot would have to be determined, of course, and some basic rules sketched out, etc etc etc. But, right now, as I said, I'm mainly trying to see which counselors would be up for it. I haven't even floated the idea to Admiral Wolf yet - but, I figure, if no one's interested, there's not much to float.
Anyway. That's enough from me, so I'll conclude with a call for replies: Would you be interested in simming as your main character for some type of IC counselors' event?

Sounds... different, and different could be good. It would depend on my schedule, but I would think I may can manage it. I'm always looking for siming opportunitiies here at SB118.

Maybe we all meet for a fleet-wide symposium on counseling techniques (similar to the CME (continuing medical education) that doctors get now) and something happens... maybe a patient escapes? or some kidnappings? Anyway - thanks for putting this together because it could be very fun

Excellent! I really didn't expect there to be this much interest in the idea, and certainly not right at the start, but it definitely looks like you all are interested ^_^
I've sent a message to Admiral Wolf explaining the idea and asking for Yahoo groups for us to expand into, but I think, right now, Karynn has the right idea - let's brainstorm what we should actually do. The idea of a conference or symposium where Something Goes Wrong™ is about what I was thinking, too. Thoughts? Ideas?
Oh, and if anyone else knows any other past or present counselors who might be interested, let them know! I PM-ed everyone I could think of, but there were some I accidentally overlooked - Della, you're one (but I'm glad you found it!), and Lieutenant Abby Hall from the Discovery.

Have all the Counselor's been contacted? Andrus Jaxx is the counselor on the Challenger, and LtCmdr Danzia was a Counselor at one time too.

I did PM Mr. Jaxx. I didn't know that Danzia had been a counselor, but I certainly wouldn't want to miss out on an opportunity to bring her aboard!
To the best of my ability/knowledge, everyone else has been contacted, but a lot of that is patchy - e.g., Emirry was counselor when I was on the Consitution, but otherwise I probably wouldn't have known that she hadn't risen up as a medical officer. Again, if there's anyone to be invited/informed/dragged in here kicking and screaming, let 'em (or me, or one of us) know ^_^
