Here's what I need to complete the site for this duty post:

- "How to SIM an Engineer": See this thread.
- Misc. Articles: If you can think of any other useful articles, suggest one here.
- "Ask the Engineer": Anyone want to volunteer to run a column like this? :)
- Profiles of Engineers: Past Engineering Chiefs (Scotty, Geordi, Miles, B'Elanna, Trip) could be fun and useful.

Many of us who originally started this SCE idea have moved on to higher posts (like XO) and aren't engineers anymore. We need to get the "group" back and inform the newer engineers that they should get involed here too.

I still have the SCE Emblem I/we created too. That should go up on the site somewhere.

And I wouldn't mind doing Engineer's profiles. That sounds like fun. We could do some famous NPC engineers, too, to suppliment the handful we've seen on the shows.

WHO'S STILL HERE? BAKER, WHERE ARE YOU?

Varaan, do you have the PSDs for that emblem? I can use it :)

And you're more than welcome to do the Engineer article, if you're so inclined!

Still haven't received that emblem... any ideas where it may be floating around?

Also, anyone interested in writing the article or hosting the column?

I just came back from a LoA was a member as Chief Engineer on the USS Albion, now an Engineering Officer aboard the USS Wallace.

I would like to be involved in the ask an Engineer Column if possible if it means running it intially thats not a problem but it might be an idea to have a small team in case RL gets hectic.

Well, I'll have to look for the .psd file...I should have it somewhere, but the still version is located here, and the moving version that I like, but I think we decided against is here.

I'm up for doing the column, solo or with another Engineer, which could be fun.

That would be great! Like I said in the intro, what we'd be looking for is summaries of the characters who have been "famous" engineers in Trek, and how they've effected the duty post. Look for common traits each of these engineers have, and also look at how they've dealt with situations. Why do we call them miracle workers? And so on...

I'm up for doing the column, solo or with another Engineer, which could be fun.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'd like folks who are doing the column to be of at least Lieutenant rank, but if you can find a lieutenant who can review your material or perhaps work half-and-half with each time a column is posted, we'd be good to go :)

Just curious - is this a part of the website that would be updated regularly? With new articles every so often? If so wouldn't it be useful to have articles about actual engineering concepts within the Star Trek Universe? Such as the discussion here regarding Transwarp versus Slipstream? Might give engineer writer a useful knowledge base.

Just my two pense.

I point you towards the 118wiki.

http://www.starbase1...eering_Articles

Hopefully that should provide you with a good enough resource for the time being. There's articles on all sorts of things related to the group there, the link above takes you to the Engineering articles section.
